Tea Trails Experience

DAY 1 AIRPORT DICKOYA

The representative of Leoland Travels will meet arrival at the Bandaranayake International airport, on arrival clients. Thereafter they will be introduced to the local tour guide/ Chauffeur who will be accompanied them around the Island.

Embark on a scenic and unique journey as you head to Ceylon Tea Trails.

It is approximately 4-hour drive from Colombo to the Castlereagh Lake. It lies in the Bogawantalawa Valley, known as the Golden Valley of Tea. In this solitude, at an elevation of 4000 feet above sea level, lies Ceylon Tea Trails- 4 classic colonial bungalows built for British tea estate managers in the days of the Raj.

These historic houses have been restored to offer the guests a unique experience of life on a working tea estate.

You will experience an unforgettable holiday that will rejuvenate your spirit in the heart of the magical world of Ceylon tea.

DAY 2 DICKOYA - NUWARAELIYA - HAKGALA - DICKOYA

Breakfast at the Bungalow and then take a drive to Nuwara Eliya.

Nuwara Eliya is a land of tea-laden hillsides, gurgling waterfalls, stirring mountains and clear hill-country air. Here, the temperature is similar to a beautiful English summers day

Once you arrive in Nuwara Eliya take a city tour to explore the amazing sightseeing of this town. The colonial atmosphere of Nuwara Eliya remains preserved and resembles a British countryside complete with rose gardens, hedges and red-roofed bungalows.

Then visit the Hakgala Gardens, It is located on a rock named Hakgala (jaw-like rock), the cool climate in the area has provided perfect settings for foreign botanical species to thrive, unlike in other parts of the country.

Among the varied foreign species housed within Hakgala includes leafy conifers and cedars from Australia, Bermuda and Japan, thick cypresses from the Himalayas and a special variety of pine all the way from New Caledonia.

Other delights that would enthrall its visitors are the gorgeous English Oak, the fernery and the rose garden that feature various types and hues of roses, sure to send the visitors into a reverie.

Return to Dickoya.

After some rest, you will trek though the trails of the tea planters to get a closer look at the tea pickers as they pick two leaves and a bud with skilful hands.

A factory visit is a must as you will witness how much care is put into drying and processing of single origin tea.
Later in the day set out to take a closer look at the local endemic jungle fowl also known as Gallus Lafayette.

DAY 3 DICKOYA - NANU OYA - DICKOYA

After breakfast, take a 90-minute train ride across the lush tea Cladded Mountains passing waterfalls, meadows and magnificent vistas to the Great Western station and return on mountain bikes to your bungalow.
In the evening trek through some of the most beautiful and scenic countryside in the island.

DAY 4 DICKOYA

After an early breakfast set, off to climb the famous Adams Peak which is only a few kilometers away from the Bungalow.
You can enjoy a well-deserved spa treatment once you have returned. (Payable directly)

DAY 5 DICKOYA - AIRPORT

The final day at Tea Trails starts with that wonderful colonial tradition, bed tea served by your butler as part of a gentle wake-up call.

Your breakfast will be served after a short morning walk.

After breakfast, proceed to airport for your onward flight
